Hartford trip cancelled

Hi Everyone

This post is for those who have already indicated that they would be attending Hartford Marina on 29th August and for those who do intend coming along but have not let me know!

We have had discussions with Hartford Marina and they have informed us that due to the fact some of their boats are moored in the vicinity they have reserved for us, we will have to moor up stern first, as there are no pontoons. Also, it is extremely muddy and a long walk to the 'local'. Use of a dinghy will be very restricted, especially in the dark. It would be very difficult for some people to get on and off their boats and a big problem for those with dogs.

In the circumstances we do feel that changes to the set plan are required and would suggest that those intending going to Hemmingford Beer Festival on Friday 28th, stay put there for the weekend, unless they wish to move on to another venue.

We are sorry to come to this decision but feel it is far more sensible for you to moor up where you feel safe and happy.

When I return from my week in Sussex I will let you know the details of the Bowling in Ely.

9.00 am to 9.45 am Check in at Chalet Bar
10.00 am Start
2.00 pm Finish
3.00 pm Prize giving at Chalet Bar
5.00 pm BBQ – Bring your own food/drinks

RULES
1. Fishing from boat or bank side within Marina or frontage only
2. No spinning or deliberate fishing for pike. (Pike/Eels caught, count in ‘weigh in’) If one caught call Andy on:- VHF. Ch.77 for weight to be taken then can be put back in water
3. One rod and one keep net only per person
